Watershed Management

We implement land use practices and water management practices to protect and improve the quality of the water and other natural resources within a watershed by managing the use of those land and water resources in a comprehensive manner. Experience of working in Eight Watersheds with more than 12000 hectare area covering 50 villages.

ARPAN has been involved in Training & Capacity Building programme of different stakeholders under watershed programmes and has concerned it as one of the main programme implemented by organization in past 10 years.

ARPAN has proven its capacity to undertake projects on such huge level also where large number of manpower and high level of administration is required. Under watershed development ARPAN has facilitated different stakeholders on major issues like orientation training to WDTs, WCs, UGs & SHGs, Technical aspects in watershed management, watershed development guideline, community mobilization, Horticulture, Agro forestry, dissemination of vermiculture technology, Nursery Development of Medicinal & Horti Plants, Pasture Land Development, Animal Husbandry, improved agriculture, income generation activities, exit protocols, etc.

Arpan Seva Sansthan is having experienced multidisciplinary team to organize such training programmes. Staff is well equipped with communication skill, presentation skill, local area knowledge and dedication for their work. Different training modules have been developed for trainings which are update time to time. Staff is experienced to use participatory tools and various methods to assure active participation of the participants.

Arpan Seva Sansthan have been recognized as a resource institute for providing Training & Capacity Building programme of different stakeholders under watershed programmes by National Rainfed Area Authority, Govt of India, New Delhi & SLNA, Watershed development & Soil Conservation, Govt of Rajasthan, Jaipur for Rajasthan state.

In year 2011-12, ARPAN was empanelled by SLNA for capacity building & training programmes of WDTs, SHGs, UGs & WCs of IWMP projects in Rajasthan. Apart from classroom interactive sessions, we arrange state and national level exposure tours for hands on experience of stakeholders. Skill Development Trainings under IWMP watershed development: Arpan has started an initiative in which skill based capacity building trainings are being provided to women interest groups. These trainings are being provided on Silai, Kadhai, Bunai, Papad-pickle-Wadi making etc. Resource persons are subject matter specialists who are hired on contract basis and they ensure that all participants learn from the training.
