Women Empowerment

ArpanSevaSansthan has placed women at the center of its development initiatives, believing that empowered women transform not only their families but entire communities. Across di?erent projects, thousands of women have been mobilized into Self-Help Groups (SHGs), trained in ?nancial literacy, skill development, and leadership.Women have taken up diverse livelihood opportunities such as tailoring, food processing, goat rearing, and dairy management. Through credit linkages and savings, they have been able to access ?nancial independence, reduce dependence on moneylenders, and build micro-enterprises.

Beyond income, women now participate con?dently in Gram Sabhas, Village Development Committees, and Farmer Producer Organizations, ensuring their voices are heard in decision- making. Many have become role models, inspiring other women in their villages to step forward. Arpan's women empowerment journey demonstrates that when women are supported with skills, resources, and con?dence, they create lasting change for generations.

01. Women led FPO - “Arpan Magra Farmer Agro Producer Company Limited”

Arpan has facilitated the establishment and strengthening of “Arpan Magra Farmer Agro Producer Company Limited” in Bhim Block of Rajsamand district, Rajasthan, through intensive training and structured capacity-building interventions. The FPO currently comprises 523 active members and working in the areas of organic manure production, quality seed production, and goatery-based livelihood development. The FPO has achieved an annual turnover of approximately INR 55,00,000, with a working capital base of INR 5,23,000, reflecting its growing institutional strength and market viability.

02. Women led federation - “Magra Mahila Samiti”

The women of Kookra and Lasadiya villages of Bhim block of Rajsamand district of Rajasthan once lived in silence—bound by poverty, drought, patriarchal traditions, domestic violence, and lack of education. Many were denied rights, forced into early marriages,and left without hope for a better future. Change began when Arpan Seva Sansthan entered their lives, recognizing their potential and organizing them into self-help groups. Over time, 100 groups with 1237 women were formed, giving them ?nancial independence, skills, and the con?dence to stand for their rights. The success of these groups led to the creation of “Magra Mahila Samiti”, a federation that provides an organizational platform for women. Today, the Samiti runs sewing centres and markets garments like suits, Rajputi poshaks, and frocks, improving family incomes and women’s decision-making power. Collectively, their earnings have grown substantially, transforming the lives of hundreds of families. Behind this success is the guidance of Arpan Seva Sansthan, which focuses on education, skill development, health awareness, women’s safety, and social change.

03. NBCFDC-DNT Livelihood Initiative under SEED Scheme

Under the SEED (Scheme for Economic Empowerment of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Arpan Seva Sansthan is implementing comprehensive livelihood interventions across 11 districts of Rajasthan and 4 districts of Uttar Pradesh.As part of this initiative, Arpan has facilitated the formation of 750 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to strengthen collective action and empower women from De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribe (DNT) communities. The program focuses on community mobilization, institution building, and enhancing access to government entitlements and social protection schemes.Through improved access to credit, structured skill development, and enterprise promotion, the initiative is creating sustainable livelihood pathways and promoting socio-economic inclusion of marginalized DNT women and their families.
