Double Farming Income

The collaboration between Arpan Seva Sansthan and Reliance Cement Company Private Limited (RCCPL) seeks to uplift the economic situation of farmers in Madhya Pradesh by doubling their income. The project focuses on various agricultural interventions to enhance the productivity, quality, and nutritional value of crops, as well as bolstering crop resilience against diseases, pests, and environmental stresses.

Key Components of the Project

Crop Diversification:

The project encourages farmers to diversify their crop selection, promoting the cultivation of a variety of crops to improve their overall income and reduce dependency on a single crop.

Kitchen Gardening:

Farmers are encouraged to engage in kitchen gardening to grow vegetables and herbs locally, ensuring a steady supply of nutritious food for their households and potentially generating additional income.

Bio Fertilizers and Pesticides:

The project promotes the use of environmentally friendly and sustainable bio fertilizers and pesticides to improve soil health, crop yield, and reduce the reliance on chemical inputs.

Mulching:

Adopting mulching techniques helps conserve soil moisture, suppress weed growth, and maintain soil temperature, resulting in better crop performance and reduced water usage.

Low-Cost Production:

Implementing cost-effective farming practices and efficient resource management helps farmers reduce production expenses, leading to increased profitability.

Grain Preservation:

To prevent post-harvest losses and increase income, farmers are provided with drums (containers) for preserving grains and other agricultural products, ensuring they can store and sell their produce at opportune times.

By implementing these interventions, the project aims to empower farmers, enhance their agricultural practices, and elevate their economic status, ultimately leading to the improvement of their livelihoods and overall well-being.
