Nand Ghar Project – Integrated Service Provider (ISP)

Arpan Seva Sansthan has been working as an Integrated Service Provider (ISP) under the Nand Ghar Initiative since July 2025, supporting the transformation of Anganwadi centres into vibrant hubs of holistic rural development.

The Nand Ghar Initiative, led by the Anil Agarwal Foundation in partnership with the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Rajasthan, aims to modernize Anganwadis into well-equipped centres delivering early childhood education, maternal and child health, nutrition, and livelihood opportunities.

With an ambitious vision to develop 25,000 Nand Ghars across Rajasthan, the initiative operates through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, strengthening last-mile service delivery under ICDS and contributing to POSHAN 2.0 goals.

Arpan’s Role as ISP

As an Integrated Service Provider for the 4000 Nand Ghar across Rajasthan state, Arpan Seva Sansthan is strengthening the effectiveness of Nand Ghars by:

  • Enhancing capacity of frontline workers (AWWs, ASHAs, ANMs)
  • Promoting community engagement and ownership
  • Strengthening monitoring, reporting, and service delivery systems
  • Improving utilization of ICDS and health services
  • Facilitating convergence with government schemes and programs

Our Approach

Arpan adopts an integrated, community-driven, and convergence-based approach to strengthen Nand Ghars as centres of rural transformation:

1. Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE)

  • Promoting play-based and joyful learning aligned with NEP 2020
  • Enhancing school readiness and cognitive development
  • Creating inclusive, child-friendly learning environments

2. Health & Nutrition

  • Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) on maternal and child nutrition
  • Strengthening VHSND platforms and growth monitoring awareness
  • Convergence with ICDS and health systems

3. Community Mobilization

  • Engaging SHGs, PRI members, and VHSNCs
  • Promoting Jan Andolan for Poshan
  • Driving community-led ownership and behaviour change

4. Digital Inclusion

  • Enabling digital learning tools at Nand Ghars
  • Promoting digital literacy among women and frontline workers
  • Facilitating access to schemes through digital platforms

5. Women Empowerment & Livelihoods

  • Strengthening SHGs and women collectives
  • Promoting skill development and micro-enterprises
  • Facilitating market linkages and financial inclusion

6. Capacity Building & System Strengthening

  • Regular training of frontline workers and stakeholders
  • Development of localized IEC/BCC materials
  • Strengthening institutional mechanisms

7. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

  • Real-time tracking using technology-enabled tools
  • Periodic reviews and adaptive learning systems
  • Outcome-based monitoring across sectors
